Samuel M. Butman, M.D., M.H.A., F.A.C.C.

Sam Butman was born, raised and educated in Montreal, Canada. A graduate of McGill University, he then moved to California for his cardiovascular training, and later was recruited to be Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, a position he held for over 20 years. He is a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist and still active as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Butman moved to Cottonwood in 2006 to expand cardiovascular care in the Verde Valley. Since arriving, Dr. Butman has continued his interests in education and research being actively involved in developing both at NAH. “Thinking about research and the future makes me smarter, makes those around me wiser, and makes the care that we all provide better.” Dr. Butman is the editor of “Cardiovascular News You Can Use,” the HVCNA newsletter.
In his spare time, he will pick up to go golfing or skiing at a moments notice.
