Cancer Center Lunch & Learn: Alternative treatments for the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation
In an effort to support those affected by cancer, the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare and Verde Valley Medical Center are hosting a special Lunch & Learn event. The intent of the presentation is to offer hope and encouragement to cancer patients, survivors, friends and family members of those affected by cancer through education and inspiring presentations.
The next free Lunch & Learn is Noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, in Conference Room B at Verde Valley Medical Center, 269 Candy Lane; lunch is provided. The presentation, “Alternative treatments for the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation,” features special guest Adam DaVirro, licensed acupuncturist. DaVirro will discuss how alternative treatments such as Chinese herbs and acupuncture can help counter act the negative side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. DaVirro has studied Chinese medicine since 1996. He specializes in acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy and nutrition.
