Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is reaching out to embrace the diabetic community and their loved ones by hosting monthly diabetes support groups. These local groups provide a supportive and sharing environment for all individuals, family members and friends affected by the disease.
The January support group is 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23 in VVMC’s Conference Rooms B and C and features guest speaker Andrea Gonzalez, M.D. Dr. Gonzalez will discuss integrative approaches to treating diabetes beyond supplements. Dr. Gonzalez is board-certified in family practice and is a member of Verde Valley Medical Center’s Family Health Providers. VVMC hosts the diabetes support groups the fourth Monday of each month. Meetings focus on diabetes management and education.
