Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is reaching out to embrace the diabetic community and their loved ones by hosting monthly diabetes support groups. These local groups provide a supportive and sharing environment for all individuals, family members and friends affected by the disease.
The February support group is 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 in VVMC’s Conference Rooms B and C and features guest speaker Kenneth Bescak, M.D. Dr. Bescak will discuss the INTERHEART study which looks at the risk factors associated with coronary heart disease including diabetes. Dr. Bescak is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and lipidology with a specialty in cardiology. He is a member of The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona.
