Free diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings for Verde Valley residents

Jan. 31, 2013

Verde Valley residents are invited to participate in free diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings through the Take Heart - Heart Disease and Diabetes Screening. The screenings include an American Diabetes Association “Are you at risk?” questionnaire; a finger-stick cholesterol and blood sugar test; blood pressure check; and a brief review of results and local resources with a healthcare professional.

The screenings, which take only 20 minutes, are held each Tuesday morning in VVMC’s Cardiology Department, 269 S. Candy Lane. To reserve an appointment time, call 928-639-6509.

The free screenings are sponsored by Verde Valley Medical Center and are funded by a grant from the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation’s Connections for Cardiovascular Healthb program. The program supports innovative work in the field of cardiovascular health.
