Verde Valley Medical Center invites the community to tour the new units at the Cottonwood campus Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. VVMC recently completed Phase I of its $35 million construction project which included the addition of a four-story east addition and two-story north addition. The expansion project came about through a master facility plan that identified growth in VVMC’s existing healthcare services, and new services needed in the community.

Tours include the relocated Medical Imaging Department which encompasses the entire first floor of the east tower. This new area includes a spacious and private set of suites for women’s imaging services, the 64-slice CT scanner and a new MRI. The Yavapai Unit on the second floor is dedicated to medical/surgical patients and has all private rooms equipped with the latest technology. Another area open to touring guests is the first floor of the north addition which houses the new Telemetry Unit, which has doubled the number of monitored cardiac beds and features bedside charting.
