The Sedona Cancer Center of Verde Valley Medical Center is hosting a free program for cancer patients and survivors. Lunch and Learn is an educational lunch event on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 12-2 p.m., in VVMC Conference Room A. The program is designed for cancer patients and survivors to learn about nutrition and fitness, and will be facilitated by Linda Cooper, registered nurse; Diane Dustin, physical therapist; and Pam Ing-Dobrota, dietitian.
Nutrition and fitness are important elements of cancer treatment. Eating the right kinds of foods before, during, and after treatment can help you feel better and stay stronger. Eating well means choosing a variety of foods that provide the nutrients needed to maintain your health while fighting cancer. It also is important to stay fit and exercise as much as you can to keep muscles working as well as possible during physical and mental changes. It also helps reduce stress and reduce fatigue.
There is no fee to attend the lunch, but group size is limited and registration is required. Please call Virginia Viol at 204-4175 to register or for more information. For easiest access to Conference Room A, please park in the visitor lot at 269 S. Candy Lane, and enter through the VVMC Outpatient Services entrance.
