VVMC announces new visiting hours

Sept. 12, 2008

Effective immediately, the Perinatal and Family Services department of Verde Valley Medical Center has implemented new visiting hours in the Perinatal and Family Services department. After delivery of a baby, visitation is limited to four visitors at a time (including the patient’s significant other), and general visiting hours are noon-8 p.m. These hours allow rest time, education, and assistance with breastfeeding in the morning for the new mothers.

There are no exceptions to the new visiting hours other than for the patient’s significant other, who may be with the patient and newborn at all times, and grandparents and siblings of the newborn who are allowed special visiting time after the baby has been born.

The newborn’s brothers and sisters under age 12 are not allowed to visit when visiting restrictions are in place at the hospital due to flu season.

VVMC asks that visitors respect patients’ privacy and confidentiality by remaining in the patient room or in the Outpatient Waiting Area. Visitors may be asked to leave the patient room if a procedure or care needs to be performed, or in the event of an emergency.
