Verde Valley Medical Center invites the community to an educational seminar about shoulder surgery presented by Bradley Williams, M.D., Ph.D., orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Williams specializes in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of sports-related injuries. Through tiny “keyhole” incisions, he can repair damaged muscles and joints – including the shoulder rotator cuff.
The rotator cuff is responsible for the lifting action of the shoulder. If this important tendon is torn or badly damaged, a person is unable to fully lift his or her arm and shoulder, and suffers a great deal of pain in trying. Unfortunately, many people go for extended periods of time with painful, enlarging rotator cuff tears. Specially prepared grafts are at the cutting edge of repairing these tears to allow return of function. Just as rewarding is to repair the rotator cuff in its earlier stages with advanced arthroscopy. Most patients require very little pain medication and are able to return to their activities relatively quickly.
Learn about treatment options for shoulder injuries at this informative free seminar on Tuesday, July 14, at 6 p.m., VVMC Conference Rooms B & C. Please RSVP to 639-6551 to reserve a seat. Walk-in attendance also is welcome. For easiest access to the conference rooms, please park in the patient lot on Candy Lane, and enter through the Outpatient Services entrance. The conference rooms are to the right.
