Community Seminar – Managing back pain through new breakthrough procedure

June 30, 2010

In an effort to educate the community on health-related topics, Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC) offers monthly educational seminars. The July seminar will feature Interventional Pain Management Physician Glenn M. Lipton, M.D., A.B.I.P.P.

During the seminar, Dr. Lipton will discuss pain management, the new minimally invasive lumbar decompression procedure and will answer questions. This free, informative event is from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, July 12 in VVMC Conference Rooms B and C, 269 S. Candy Lane. To RSVP, call 639-6551; walk-ins are welcome.

Approved through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the minimally invasive lumbar decompression procedure offers relief from bone and tissue pressure. The pressure created by bones and tissues may irritate nerves close to the spine, causing serve back pain. Described as “back surgery through a needle,” the procedure proves to be a surgical breakthrough.
