Verde Valley Medical Center’s Joint Replacement Program is hosting a free joint replacement informational seminar for those suffering from ongoing joint pain who would like to discover more about treatment options.
The next free seminar is from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office Training Room, 646 S. First St., Camp Verde. Please call 639-6551 to register; walk-ins are welcome.
The seminar will be presented by Orthopedic Surgeons Geoffrey H. Cook, M.D., and Jack W. Wylie, M.D. They will be joined by VVMC’s EntireCare Director Paul Prefontaine, physical therapist, for an overview of pre-surgery education and post-surgery rehabilitation.
VVMC started its Joint Replacement Program in 2002. Since then, it has gained national recognition as a Center of Excellence for its high success rate. The program is wellness-oriented for otherwise healthy individuals who need knee or hip surgery. It focuses on preoperative education, state of the art surgical techniques, skilled nursing care and focused pain management strategies. Advanced physical therapy includes a focus on restoring independence as soon as possible.
