VVMC’s Diabetes Support group: Discussing services available for visually challenged

April 13, 2011

Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is reaching out to embrace the diabetic community and their loved ones by hosting monthly diabetes support groups. These local groups provide a supportive and sharing environment for all individuals, family members and friends affected by the disease.

The April meeting is 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, April 25, in VVMC’s Conference Rooms B and C. This meeting will feature Outreach Librarian Christine Tuttle, Arizona State Braille and Talking Book Library. Tuttle will discuss the services available statewide for individuals with visual impairments or physical limitations and will discuss a new digital book system. This event is open to all members of the community. To R.S.V.P., call VVMC at 928 639-6346; walk-ins welcome.

VVMC hosts the diabetes support groups the fourth Monday of each month. Meetings focus on diabetes management and education. Patients, families and those affected by diabetes are welcome to participate.
