Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is reaching out to embrace the diabetic community and their loved ones by hosting monthly diabetes support groups. These local groups provide a supportive environment where all individuals, family members and friends affected by the disease can share their experiences with one another.

The February meeting is 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28 in VVMC’s Conference Rooms B and C. The meeting will feature Cardiologist Kenneth Bescak, M.D., from the Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona. Dr. Bescak will discuss Metabolic Syndrome and how it relates to diabetes. VVMC hosts the diabetes support groups the fourth Monday of each month. Meetings focus on diabetes management and education. Patients, families and those affected by diabetes are welcome to participate.
