VVMC hosts Diabetes Alert Day March 22: Get screened for diabetes

March 3, 2011

In an effort to educate the community about the symptoms and risks associated with diabetes, Verde Valley Medical Center’s Diabetes Education Department has joined with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to host Diabetes Alert Day in the Verde Valley. This recognition day is designed to encourage Americans to get informed about the risks of diabetes and get screened for the disease.

This free, one-day national event is Tuesday, March 22. Participants can receive a diabetes risk test, diabetes screenings by certified diabetes educators, blood sugar evaluation and additional information designed to educate the community about diabetes.

Alert Day activities and screenings will be held in Cottonwood and in Camp Verde. In Cottonwood, the event is from 8 – 11 a.m., in VVMC’s Conference Room C, 269 S. Candy Lane. In Camp Verde, the event is from 9:30 – Noon, at the VVMC clinic, 460 Finnie Flats Rd.
