Throughout October the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare (CCNAH) fashioned the Arty-Bra project in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. The project was displayed at many venues throughout Northern Arizona honoring everyone who has dealt or is dealing with breast cancer.
Community members were invited to decorate a bra to support those who are battling breast cancer and those who are breast cancer survivors. This year, there were more than 40 incredible bras displayed, each with clever titles and extravagant and fun designs, encouraging and promoting breast health and early detection. The top-four Arty-Bras were: Blossom Meditation: I Am Whole, by Katie Norton-Martin; Wonder Woman After Breast Cancer, by Shirley Benson; Everything Is Coming Up Roses, by VTara Ruscher; and Playful Perky Plastasines, by Jessica Davis.
People from all over Northern Arizona came to the different venues to see the creative artwork, help raise awareness of breast cancer and support the beauty of all women. Close to $1000 was donated through the project to benefit breast cancer patients at CCNAH. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated on behalf of the project.
