Self-care strategies for healthy living – Sedona Library Lecture Series Nov. 10

In recognition of National Hospice Month held annually each November, Northern Arizona Homecare and Hospice is sponsoring a free seminar on reducing stress and increasing energy. The seminar begins at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 in the Si Birch Community Room at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Rd. To R.S.V.P. or for more information, please call 928 639-6675. Author, physical therapist, teacher and wellness instructor Kate Cronan-Sawert, M.A., will discuss “Self-care strategies for healthy living.” Kate will share stress management techniques and help participants evaluate and improve their lifestyle balance.

As a dynamic professional speaker and lifestyle coach, Kate has traveled the U.S. helping individuals and groups improve their physical and mental health while maximizing their performance, both in the workplace and in their personal lives. Her past workshops include a series of stress management programs for the New York City Police Department after 9/11. Her first book, Self Health, was published and released in 2008.

Most recently, Kate was a guest speaker at the fall 2011 Northern Arizona Hospice Volunteer training series. She presented an interactive workshop entitled “Self-care strategies for volunteers – balancing the body, calming the mind and soothing the spirit.”

Nonprofit Northern Arizona Hospice is a member of Northern Arizona Healthcare, and was founded in 1984. It is an affiliate of Verde Valley Medical Center and Flagstaff Medical Center.

The Sedona Lecture Series, sponsored by VVMC, showcases various health-related topics to benefit the community. The lectures feature prominent speakers who are experts in their field to provide valuable information on the specific topic.
