In celebration of National Diabetes Education Week, Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is sponsoring a free Diabetes Expo. The Diabetes Expo is noon to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at VVMC, 269 S. Candy Lane, in the EntireCare Lobby. For more information, call 928 639-6346.
The Expo offers participants the opportunity to learn how to live healthy and be active through a variety of diabetes-related information including free raffle and diabetes supplies, exercise tips, skin and foot care, gifts, natural supplements and food samples, demonstrations, new products to preview and free screenings. Diabetes specialists on hand to ask questions and offer their expertise include dietitians, personal trainer and diabetes educators.
Free lectures include:
• 12:30 p.m.: “Monitoring Matters” with Sue Simbric, R.N., certified diabetes educator
• 1:15 p.m.: “What’s in your Pantry” with Mary May, R.N., certified diabetes educator
• 2 p.m.: “Stretching with Zac” with Zac Aberle, Cottonwood Senior Center
