VVMC’s Diabetes Support group: The relationship between diabetes, sleep apnea and mental health

Verde Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Diabetes Education Program is reaching out to embrace the diabetic community and their loved ones by hosting monthly diabetes support groups. These local groups provide a supportive and sharing environment for all individuals, family members and friends affected by the disease.
The March meeting is 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, March 28 in VVMC’s Conference Rooms B and C. The meeting with feature Donald J. Curran, D.O., who will discuss the relationships between diabetes, sleep apnea and mental health. Dr. Curran is board-certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine, and is the psychiatric director of Verde Valley Medical Center’s Senior Lifestyles Behavioral Health Unit. Dr. Curran has been practicing medicine and psychiatry for more than 30 years.

VVMC hosts the diabetes support groups the fourth Monday of each month. Meetings focus on diabetes management and education.
