The Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare are hosting a free program for cancer patients and survivors. Lunch and Learn is an educational lunch event on Saturday, April 4, from 12-2 p.m., in Verde Valley Medical Center Conference Room C. The program is designed for cancer patients and survivors to learn about the mind, body, spirit connection as it applies to their ongoing survivorship.
The mind can become overwhelmed when faced with unforeseen obstacles such as sudden illness, job loss, and financial difficulties, which cause stress. We can end up with the inability to think clearly. When the mind is out of balance, the body suffers and we tend to become lax about exercise and good nutrients. As with the mind, the body also reacts negatively to stress and begins to break down, losing its ability to maintain balance. Our spirit is perhaps the most neglected part of nurturing ourselves, yet is one of the most important tools for maintaining wellness.
There is no fee to attend the luncheon program, but group size is limited and registration is required. Please call 204-4175 to register or for more information. For easiest access to Conference Room C, please park in the visitor lot at 269 S. Candy Lane, and enter through the VVMC Outpatient Services entrance.
