Verde Valley Medical Center is hosting a diabetes support group Monday, Oct. 26, from
5-7 p.m., in VVMC Conference Room A, for individuals, family members and friends whose lives have been affected by diabetes.

Join the group to spend a fun evening watching a demonstration of “Healthy Holiday Cooking.” Rich Crowell, VVMC director of Nutritional Services, will be creating healthy holiday fare. Crowell will be joined by VVMC Nutritional Services staff Laurie Handley and Megan Dastrup, for sessions on modifying recipes to suit diabetic needs.

The Nutritional Services team is excited about sharing this evening to help members of the diabetic community. Crowell said, “This is a great opportunity for us to share our nutrition and culinary experience with a specific health-related group.”

Diabetic Educator and Support Group Facilitator Mary May said, “We hope the Verde Valley’s diabetic community will take advantage of this opportunity. Holidays can be a challenge for diabetics, and having favorite recipes converted to more healthy versions will be a great help.”
