About Our Center

Verde Valley Medical Center offers the advanced heart and vascular care that patients might expect to find in a large metropolitan area right here in Northern Arizona. Physician and staff expertise, advanced technology and compassionate care are the cornerstones of VVMC’s heart and vascular program.

As a state-designated Cardiac Arrest Center, VVMC provides comprehensive, technologically advanced care to patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. At VVMC’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab, an interventional cardiologist is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During an emergency, cardiologists work closely with the emergency physicians, a team of expert staff and local EMS personnel to ensure the most rapid response. These protocols help to save lives as well as preserve heart muscle and prevent brain damage.

VVMC has performed more than 2,000 coronary interventional procedures. Our Catheterization Lab team consists of board certified cardiologists, specialty-trained nurses and cardiac radiology technicians. A large number of minimally invasive procedures are performed in the hospital’s Catheterization Lab, including balloon angioplasties, the insertion of stents, pacemakers and defibrillators.

VVMC’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit utilizes specialized medical equipment and specially trained staff to provide the most advanced care to patients recovering from cardiac and vascular procedures.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at VVMC gives patients the tools they need to continue getting better after they are released from the hospital. As patients recover and prepare to go home, they receive a specialized plan of care developed by physicians, nurses and dietitians.

VVMC’s Mended Heart Support Group offers heart patients and their families emotional support during hospitalization and recovery. Mended Heart volunteers visit patients in the hospital and attend outpatient meetings. By sharing their experiences of surviving heart disease, these volunteers offer hope to patients that they too can return to good health.
