Patient Access Services

The Patient Access Services staff members often are the first contact for patients at Verde Valley Medical Center. While adhering to the standards and guidelines of the Arizona Hospital Association and other state and federal agencies, our friendly and caring staff members register outpatients for scheduled procedures and tests. They also are responsible for the timely and accurate inpatient admission process. Financial counseling and education about medical assistance options are provided for both outpatients and inpatients during the registration process.

Patients may be scheduled and preregistered by telephone up to two weeks in advance of their services. When a patient preregisters, we can contact their insurance company for any authorizations required in advance of services. When a patient arrives for services, they are asked to sign our Condition of Admission form. We provide them with information regarding our safety policy, HIPPA Policy (the government’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act which was created to protect patients’ healthcare information and privacy), Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney. We ask for a form of identification, such as a driver’s license, after which their account is activated and they may proceed to their service.

The goal of Patient Access Services is to provide excellent customer service. We also uphold a high standard of professionalism and adhere to all Corporate Compliance policies while assisting patients, Medical Staff, and all departments of the hospital with the registration process.
