Surgical Services
The Surgical Services department at
Flagstaff Medical Center utilizes a wide range of technological
equipment that enables physicians to perform state-of-the-art surgical
procedures. In conjunction with FMCs $81-million Master Site Plan
construction, Surgical Services now has 11 operating rooms
and a new pre and post anesthesia areas.
Almost 600 surgeries are performed
each month; most cases are orthopaedic, neurosurgery and general surgery.
Our team provides consultative and definitive care services on an
inpatient and outpatient basis. The goal of the department is to provide
a high standard of care for the patient and the family. Emergency
surgical care is available
24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Cardiovascular surgery became
available in the fall of 2004. A Cardiothoracic Surgeon has been
added to the FMC Active medical staff, the communities in our service
area will now have this surgical specialty available closer to home.
