About Sedona

Sedona is located in the heart of Arizona’s Red Rock Country, at the mouth of the spectacular Oak Creek Canyon, just a two-hour drive north of Phoenix. Sedona is central to many major Arizona destinations such as the Grand Canyon and is in itself a major vacation destination rivaling many of the National Parks. Although its population is 12,000, four million people visit Sedona each year.

Located in the southwest desert under the rim of the Colorado Plateau and completely surrounded by the Coconino National Forest, Sedona boasts clean air and 300 days of sunshine annually.

Tourism forms Sedona’s economic base. Sedona’s small town character is preserved by many owner-operated businesses serving visitors and the community. Many artists in Sedona are involved in forms of manufacturing sold throughout the world. The city is rich in all aspects of the cultural and has an abundance of acclaimed musicians, artists and writers.

Verde Valley Medical Center, a member of Northern Arizona Healthcare, is a full-service 99-bed hospital located in nearby Cottonwood, 17 miles south of Sedona. It includes complete inpatient services, as well as 24-hour emergency care and an on-site medical helicopter. The VVMC-Sedona Campus, located in west Sedona, is an outpatient facility specializing in primary healthcare, cancer treatment and 24-hour emergency services.

With Sedona’s increasing popularity as a residential and tourist destination, the presence of locally prominent financial institutions, including banks, investment firms and mortgage companies, continues to grow as well, making the area even more inviting for business owners and entrepreneurs from around the country.
