A range of services
Many services which were formerly
provided only in a hospital are now available for infants, pregnant women,
children, adults and geriatric patients.
Home infusion:
I.V. antibiotics, nutritional infusions and other special needs infusion
therapies are performed at home by a registered nurse.
Case management:
Nurse case managers assist in coordination of care to help patients and
families handle complex healthcare issues.
Skilled nursing:
Registered nurses and home health aides provide post-surgical care,
prenatal home care, complex wound care, diabetic management and many other
home-based services.
Skilled therapy:
Professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and
language therapy help patients work toward rehabilitation without leaving
home.
Social services:
Clinical social workers help locate community resources, counsel patients
and their families, provide financial counseling and help with planning
for the future.
Personal care:
Bathing, personal care, light housekeeping and meal preparation are among
the personal services available to patients who need them. |
