Pediatrics
The Pediatrics wing is geared
specifically toward children. Fun shapes in the carpeting and on the
walls, a hippopotamus examining table, stickers and treats as rewards
are examples of the little things our staff is including to make our
patients’ stay a pleasant experience.
The Pediatric Unit at Flagstaff Medical Center recently has been
renovated to accommodate the unit to 14 beds for children 18 and under.
The rooms are new, private rooms with bathrooms.
A playroom is available for patients, outfitted with child furniture and
plush bean bag chairs. Nurses and staff have story and craft times for
patients in this facility. There is also a nutrition center where
families of patients can help themselves to beverages and snacks, or use
the small kitchen appliances to warm up food. Our staff wants families
to feel as comfortable as possible while their child is staying at FMC.
In addition to these facilities, FMC Pediatrics has comfortable and
quiet spaces for families to rest, read and relax.
With these new facilities, our specially trained pediatric nurses can
give even more individual attention to our young patients.

animals, coloring books and videos to shift the focus of their attention
