CHS Outpatient Clinics/Therapy Services
- These pediatric sub-specialty clinics are available to any child upon
referral from a physician. AHCCCS, private insurance or self-pay are
accepted methods of reimbursement.

Audiology

We have two audiologists at our Flagstaff clinic who provide hearing and
balance services for ages newborn through 21. The Audiology department
also conducts newborn hearing screenings before all infants leave the
hospital. Your child's hearing can be accurately tested at any age by an
audiologist. Services provided include hearing screenings, hearing aids
and repair, and dizziness testing. Children may be eligible to be seen in
this clinic through CRS or privately by referral from their primary care
practitioner.
Endocrinology

This clinic treats disorders of the glands, which affect growth and
development. Children may be eligible to be seen in this clinic through
CRS or privately by referral from their primary care practitioner.
Gastroenterology

This clinic treats disorders of the digestive system. Children may be
eligible to be seen in this clinic through CRS or privately by referral
from their primary care practitioner.
Genetics

Genetics is a CHC/CRS clinic, which is staffed by geneticists from Tucson, all of whom are associated with the University of
Arizona. A child gets referred to this clinic when there is an unusual
or unknown disorder that the referring physician thinks may be genetic
in origin. Genetics may be helpful in determining the likelihood of
having future children with specific disorders. Children may be eligible
to be seen in this clinic through CRS or privately by referral from
their primary care practitioner.
Metabolic

Metabolics clinic serves children with a variety of inborn errors of
metabolism, such as PKU, Homocystinuria, MSUD, Galactosemia and others.
The metabolics team--consisting of a physician, dietitian and
nurse--travel to Flagstaff twice a year for clinics. Call the clinic
social worker at 1 800 232-1018 for further information.
Nephrology

The nephrology clinic is held every other month at CHC by a pediatric nephrologist. This clinic is held for children who
are having problems such as nephritis, nephrosis, cystic kidney disease,
renal transplant follow-up and other kidney conditions. Children may be
eligible to be seen in this clinic through CRS or privately by referral
from their primary care practitioner.
Physical Therapy

Therapists assess and direct treatment of a wide variety of disorders,
both orthopaedic and neurologic. They can provide coordination and
communication with community therapists and agencies. Therapists provide
assessment of medical equipment or orthotic needs, related patient
training and follow-up.
Wheelchair/Seating

These clinics are conducted with a specially-trained physical therapist
and wheelchair manufacturer to design custom-fitted wheelchairs for
children and adults in need of a specialized wheelchair.
