Emergency Department
Verde Valley Medical Center provides
a physician-staffed Emergency department open 24-hours a day, seven days
a week.
The physicians are supported by registered nurses trained in Advanced
Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced
Trauma Life Support.
Expanded and remodeled, the ED includes 12 treatment rooms and two
trauma bays. The ED has standing triage protocols which allow for rapid
intervention and therapy. VVMC provides cardiac, pediatric and general
emergency interventions.
Through established protocols, the ED and Cardiac Cath Lab team have
established one of the best national door-to-balloon times in cardiac
interventional care.
The VVMC Emergency department also functions as a medical base station.
VVMC gives medical direction and training to the field medics of EMS
departments in the Verde Valley. All medical transports have field
transmission capability to send electrocardiograms directly to the
hospital, which speeds care at patient time of arrival.
VVMC has an on-site medically dedicated helicopter, Angel 3, which
allows VVMC to respond even more quickly to the medical transportation
needs of North Central Arizona.
