Medical Imaging
Ensuring patients have access to the
latest medical imaging technology at VVMC continues to be a focus of the
VVMC Board of Directors and Northern Arizona Healthcare. In its effort
to accomplish this, VVMC combines leading edge technology with
experienced compassionate personnel to provide services in:
X-Ray
Utilizing digital fluoroscopy, Philips
multi-diagnostic, G.E. Proteus XR/A, Hologic TM-50 equipment and
tomography, providing state-of-the-art diagnostic capabilities.
CT Scan
The Siemens Somatom Sensation 64-Slice CT
Scan installed in 2005 offers patients the most powerful CT scanning
equipment available outside of research and teaching facilities.
Ultrafast scanning, short breath holds and superior image detail with
the ability to reconstruct images in any plane or angle.
MRI
Only high-field strength MRI in the Verde
Valley, Philips 1.5 Tesla magnet with recent upgrades to facilitate
state-of-the-art vascular imaging.
Mammography
Two mammography suites, including
stereotactic breast biopsy equipment and an R2 image checker, enhancing
imaging capabilities and providing cutting edge biopsy techniques
utilizing mammography for localizations.
Ultrasound
Two ATL 5000 high definition ultrasound
units with CT-Sono technology are accompanied by a Nicolet Vasoguard
Vascular machine offering non-invasive vascular exams.
Nuclear Medicine
Allows early detection of disease through
utilization of a minute amount of radiopharmaceuticals called isotopes.
Painless, no anesthesia required, and documents the degree of organ
function without surgery. Addition of a third Gamma camera to best serve
customer needs.
PET/CT Scan
Leading diagnostic tool for many types of
cancer, coronary heart disease and neurological problems now available
at the VVMC campus. This modality combines nuclear medicine technology
with X-ray, thereby providing both anatomical and functional
information.
